The Lake Chelan Boating Club has eleven board members
that handle the day-to-day operations of the Club. The positions are as
follows; Commodore, Vice-Commodore, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Chair,
Social Chair, Lucerne Chair, 2-Two Year Board Member & 2-One Year Board
Members.
Commodore
The Commodore shall preside at all meetings of directors, shall have
general
supervision of the affairs of the corporation and shall perform all such other
duties as are incumbent to his office or are properly required of him by the
Board of Directors.
Vice-Commodore
The Vice-Commodore shall, during the absence or disability of the
Commodore,
exercise all of the functions of the Commodore. The Vice-Commodore shall have
such powers and discharge such duties as may be assigned to him from time to
time by the Board of Directors.
Secretary
The Secretary issues all notices for all meetings; shall keep minutes of
all meetings; shall have charge of the seal and corporate books; shall keep the
membership informed by issuing a monthly newsletter, in cooperation with the
Commodore; shall send out notices to the membership when the dues are to be
paid; shall make such reports and perform such other duties as are incumbent to
that office, or are properly required of the Secretary by the Board Directors.
In the event of the absence or disability of the Secretary, the Board of
Directors shall have the authority to appoint an assistant to the Secretary who
shall perform all of the duties of the Secretary during the absence or disability
of the Secretary.
Treasurer
The Treasurer shall have the custody of all moneys and securities of the
corporation and shall keep regular books of account. The Treasurer shall
disburse the funds of the corporation in payment of the just demands against the
corporation or as may be ordered by the Board of Directors, taking proper
vouchers for such disbursements, and shall render to the Board of Directors
from time to time, as may be required of him, an account of all transactions as
Treasurer and all of the financial condition of the corporation. The Treasurer
shall perform such other duties associated to the office or that any properly
required of the Treasurer by the Board of Directors. The Assistant Treasurer,
if one is appointed by the Board of Directors, shall perform all the duties of
the
Treasurer in the absence or disability of the Treasurer. The Treasurer shall
also collect all dues from the membership and shall arrange for the annual
audit by an independent third party that is thereafter be submitted to the
entire membership.
Membership Chair
The Membership Chair shall appoint three members to serve with him or
her as a Membership Committee and the Committee Shall be responsible for the
solicitation of new members and shall forward all membership applications to
the general membership for consideration.
Social Chair
The Social Chair shall be responsible for the entertainment and
education programs of the club. He or she shall appoint four members of the
club to serve on the committee with him or her and to aid in the completing his/her
responsibilities.
Board Officers
Each year the board will consist of two 2-yr board positions (that are
offset so they do not coincide), two 1-yr board positions (one of which is
filled by the past commodore if he/she does not hold the position again)
The Board of Directors may appoint such other offices and
agents as it shall deem necessary or expedient, who shall hold their offices
for such terms and shall exercise such powers and perform such duties be
determined from time to time by the Board of Directors.
Lucerne Chair
The Lucerne Chairperson is responsible for managing all aspects of the
Lucerne property, from general maintenance to cabin upkeep to enforcing the
Lucerne Property Rules. The chairperson is to organize two cabin holder's
meeting a year and assign a Lucerne Committee consisting of 5 members, 3 cabin
holders & 2 club members that are not owners, co-owners, partners or on the
Cabin Wait List.
